Description | In this replica of the Greek relief, Orpheus says farewell to his wife Eurydice who, according to legend, died of a viper bite. In Greek legend, Orpheus was the most famous poet and musician. He played the lyre so beautifully that the trees and stones danced to his music, and wild beasts were tamed by it. --Source Unknown |
