Published Description

"The bronze Praying Boy in the Berlin Museum has often been equated with Pliny's Adornas (praying youth) by Lysippos' son Boidas & would then date early 3rd c. BCE]; but the sophisticatedly simple pose, without trace of axial torsion, together with the untectonic blending of the anatomic divisions into a naturalistic continuity of surface, make hazardous any attribution to the immediate Lysippan school. And since the bent arms with the outstretched suppliant hands are modern additions, even the identification as an adorant is uncertain." - Carpenter, p. 182. "One is a rather dull bronze of a boy...." - Robertson, p. 478.
