Published Description

Bronze Juror's Ballot: This bronze disc is a replica of a fourth century B.C. juror's ballot. During a trial jurors were given two bronze discs. After the courtroom speeches, the jurors would cast their ballots in a copper vessel. A perforated disc would stand for the plantiff, an unperforated disc for the defendant. This disc represents support for the defendant.
