Research Remarks
Published Description | CAMPANIAN TEANO PEDESTALLED DISH Echinus body, flaring rim, tall stem with broad disk base. On the side of foot are pendants alternating with double dots. Interior of dish decorated with a small omphalos. Around the omphalos are: a ring with dots; successive bands of stamped circles and a groove; stamped ovals; circles and a groove; dots between two grooves; pendants and triple dots; and dots between two grooves. Accessory Colors: White: all decoration (including grooves) except for stamped circles and ovals. From Nola in Campania. -- Wisseman, Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum, Plate 61, 8 and 11. |
