Published Description

APULIAN RED-PATTERN LEKANIS AND LID Shape and Ornament: Rim of both lekanis and lid defined by carinatioin. Knob handle, slightly flaring foot. Top of handle depressed and decorated with glazed band and rays around a dot. On each side of lid a palmette, with volutes and half-palmettes in between. Dots on palmettes and volutes. Vertical stripes on edge of lid. A single wide band on stem of lekanis lid. Both vase and lid have fully glazed interiors.
