APULIAN XENON SESSILE KANTHAROS Shape and Ornament: Bell-shaped body, strap handle, narrow disk foot. Six concentric incised circles on interior. A. From top to bottom: vertical slashes; double lines; tendrils and triangles; zigzag; double line. B, Vertical slashes, horizontal zigzag, vertical zigzag, all separated by double lines. Edge of foot grooved. Accessory Colors: red: all decoration. From Ruvo di Puglia. Tentatively attributed by J.R. Green (in a letter dated 8/14/79). About first quarter of the fourth century B.C. --Wisseman, Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum, Plate 60, 6-7.
