Published Description

SICILIAN (?) GNATHIA LEKANIS AND LID Shape and Ornament: Carinated body and lid, echinus foot, slightly flaring knob handle. Undecorated body and reserved foot. On the lid, tendrils and dot rosettes between two pairs of lines. Line on the edge of the knob. Accessory Colors: Yellow: line, tendrils, and dot rosettes. From Capena. Attributed as Gnathian by J.R. Green (in a letter dated 8/14/97), who says it might be of Sicilian manufacture. --Wisseman, Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum, Plate 61, 10.
