Published Description | ITALIC BLACK-GLAZE GUTTUS Shape and Ornament: Convex body with incised ribs. Tall slightly flaring foot with central ridge. Upper half of foot reserved and washed with red. Red cross on bottom of foot. SUBJECT: Relief head of bearded satyr. Possibly ex Baudon Collection. Campanian. About 300 B. C. -- Wisseman, Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum, Plate 64, 3 and 6. |
