Published Description

CORINTHIAN FRAGMENTARY KOTHON Shape and Ornament - Round body, slightly flaring base. Interior glazed except for a reserved circle on the base. A band of black sigmas decorates the exterior rim. Brown concentric rings are painted on the rim, lower body, and underside. Dimensions and Condition - H. 0.055 m.; d. body 0.143 m.; d. foot 0.105 m. Buff clay, dark brown to black glaze. Large body section with part of shoulder and ribbon handle as well as several smaller pieces broken or missing. Repaired. Ex Baudon Collection.
