Description

ATTIC BLACK-FIGURE CUP (SUB A)
Shape and Ornament: Continuous curved body, round handles set diagonally, disk foot. A wide glazed band below the main scene. Edge and underside of foot reserved.
Subject I, a cloaked satyr facing left and holding a wreath(?) in his right hand, inside a wide glazed band. A–B, Two warriors standing to left alternating with two warriors each leading a horse to right. All wear low -crested Corinthian helmets and bear round shields and spears. Vine with grapes in the background. Dolphin under each handle.
