ATTIC RED-FIGURE ASKOS Shape and Ornament: Convex top, strap handle, no foot. Subject: Two crouching leopards, one on either side of handle. Ears are elongated and the animals' mouths are open. Relief contour for leopards' chests, backs, eyes, and claws. Second half of the fourth century B. C. -- Wisseman, Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum, Plate 28, 6.
