Description

CAMPANIAN RED-FIGURE FISH-PLATE
Shape and Ornament: Footed plate. ON edge of plate, a reserved wave-pattern. SUBJECT: Two bream and a torpedo decorate interior of plate. Details of fish in dilute glaze.
Accessory Colors: White outlines and fins of fish.
From Cumae. Attributed to the Torpedo Group by A. D. Trendall (in a letter dated 8/3/79). Third quarter of the fourth century B. C. -- Wisseman, Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum, Plate 53, 1-2.
