Description

Hellenistic Bronzes Small bronze figures of animals became popular in the decoration of Hellenistic houses. They often focus on aspects not seen in earlier Greek bronze animals, which were primarily made for dedication at sanctuaries. Here a sow crouches in a thicket, and a ewe turns her head inquisitively. 3rd-1st c. B.C.
