Research Remarks
Published Description | Per Joel Gordon, Dept. of History, UIUC, 1997: (Info on 1941.01.0001). "This is an old piece, but to call it "late Ottoman" may be pushing things. The crescent/star does not necessarily denote Turkey. The pear shaped bottom may be a clue to origin (it would seem to rule out, for example, Egypt)." |
