In cope, Margin inscription is text from Job XIX, 25-27. Shields of the Passion and the Trinity. MARGIN INSCRIPTION: I believe that my Redeemer liveth. I will rise again from the earth in the last day. I shall be girt around again with my skin and in my flesh. I will see the Lord by Savior whom I will see. For nothing else is this my hope laid away in my breast. MOUTH SCROLLS: Jesus, when Thou comest to judge, do not condemn me. Thou who molded me, take pity on me. INSCRIPTION: Here lies John Campenden once Warden of this Hospital. May God have mercy on his soul. |
