Published Description

From the catalogue, An Exhibition of Medieval Brass Rubbings by Kathleen H. Cairns. "Lady Joan de Cobham, 1433, granddaughter of Sr John de Cobham, founder of the church and Lady Margaret (1395). She had five husbands. Her fifth, Sir John Harpendon survived her and is buried in Westminster Abbey. She wears a widow's costume. The inscription bears the name of only one husband."
