From the catalogue, An Exhibition of Medieval Brass Rubbings by Kathleen H. Cairns. "Thomas Peyton, Esquire 1484. In Yorkist armour with his wives Margaret Bernard and Margaret Francis. INSCRIPTION: Pray for the souls of Thomas Peyton, Esquire and Margaret and Margaret his wives which said Thomas died the 30th day of the month of July A.D. 1484. On whose souls God have mercy." This same description appears in the exhibition catalog for the Botetourt Gallery and Museum, College of William and Mary.
