Comparanda | Very similar to example in Dunbarton Oaks, dated 5th c. and coming from Constantinople. Even the techniques of the inscriptions are similar (letters made of dots) and the little crosses of dots along the calibrations. The Dunbarton Oaks example is catalogued in Marvin Ross Catalogue of the Byzantine & Farly Medieval Antiquities in the Dunbarton Oaks Collection, volume 1, Number 71. (q. 709.495 D89c, clx) Henry |
