Description

As can be observed from the image, the allegory on the left is pictured sitting on a throne with a sword by her side and scales in hand. Typically this depiction is consistent with the allegory of Justice. The scale serves as a metaphor for the fair and equal justice provided by the law, as well as for the process of weighing the evidence and the facts in order to reach a decision. It also demonstrates Justice's obligation to maintain social balance. The sword is symbolic of Justice’s authority, as well as its ability to strike injustice down. Perhaps the two figures appear on the banknote to convey that where justice is present, abundance follows.

To the right is Euthenia, Greek goddess of abundance. Her Roman counterpart was Abundatia, the personification of good luck as well as prosperity. She is oftentimes associated with the cornucopia, horn of plenty. Considered a kind goddess that eased financial stress and struggle, she was beloved by Romans.

The figure in the center of the banknote is unidentified.
