Research Remarks
| Description | Furniture pieces of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) were treasured items for interior design, particularly when displayed in a house reception hall. A common arrangement was a large painted hanging scroll flanked by scrolls of calligraphy on either side; a table stood in front and was adorned with a vase or other thematic items. The remainder of the hall consisted of furniture and other decorative items such as vases, resulting in a crowded and impressive room display. |
