| Description | This is a box for a Chinese boxwood carving of a Ruyi, a curved and scepter-like emblem of rank which was used in court ceremonies and appears in Buddhist iconography as a symbol of religious dialogue. This carving depicts a stem with a double peach as the head. A small standing figure holding a peach can also be seen on the stem. |
