Research Remarks
Description | A round metallic lid that is a part of the kama. It features an ornate ball at the center for handling. The kama is a vessel that is used in conjunction with the furo to both hold and heat water, which is later used to make tea. When the host serves tea to their guest, the lid is removed from the kama for the rest of the ceremony and placed on a lid rest called futa-oki. |
