Beaded snake bag craft

Around the World Wednesdays

Around the World Wednesdays continues with a craft based on the new exhibit, South Asian Seams. Decorate a muslin drawstring bag, and make a beaded snake to go inside of it. Out in the exhibit, look at the artifact the craft is based on (a Ralli quilt by the Jogi people, possibly made as a snake collecting bag), and find peacocks, fish, horses and elephants in the various other quilts with our animal bingo sheet. Arrive anytime 9:30 - 11:30 to craft; the program ends at noon.
