At the intellectual heart of the University lies the Center for Advanced Study, bringing together scholars from diverse disciplines and backgrounds, encouraging and rewarding excellence in all areas of academic inquiry.
CAS appointments are among the highest forms of campus recognition. CAS Professors, permanent members of the Center are joined each year by Associates and Fellows, tenured and untenured University of Illinois faculty who are awarded one semester release time to pursue their projects. In accordance with the Center's mission, these appointments provide an incentive to pursue the highest level of scholarly achievement. They also provide faculty members with an unusual opportunity to explore new ideas and demonstrate early results.
Join recent CAS Associates and Fellows at this inaugural symposium as they present work made possible through these appointments.
