CAS Initiative Lecture: "Staging the Animal: Theatrical Explorations of Contemporary Human-Animal Relations" with Holly Hughes and Kim Marra, moderated by Jane Desmond

Well known performance artist Holly Hughes is joined by award-winning theater scholar Kim Marra to present work that explores human relations with animals through word, sound, image and movement in two performance pieces, with discussion following about the creative process and the growing field of animal studies.

The Center for Advanced Study Interdisciplinary Initiatives offer campus the opportunity to engage in a yearlong and in-depth conversation about a topic relevant to our entire scholarly community. For the 15th-anniversary year of this prestigious program, the Center has invited back a few former CAS Resident Associates to reflect on the initiatives they helped organize and how their work has evolved since.

This event is presented by the Center for Advanced Study and follows a previous CAS Initiative titled "Knowing Animals: Histories, Strategies and Frontiers in Human/Animal Relations".
