Part of the Sonified Sustainability Festival
The Sonified Sustainability Festival celebrates the 35th anniversary of the seminal environmental film Koyaanisqatsi, directed by Godfrey Reggio and featuring music by Philip Glass. A Hopi Indian word defined as "life out of balance," Koyaanisqatsi was noted by Roger Ebert in 1983 as "an impressive visual and listening experience."
The Sonified Sustainability Festival celebrates ecological music and arts through a series of programs during Earth Week at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts and other locations on the University of Illinois campus.
This program is co-sponsored by the Student Sustainability Committee at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
