One of the most destructive forces to confront museum artifacts is one of the smallest: insects. Behind the scenes, Spurlock Museum staff members work hard to kill the bugs without damaging the objects. On August 6 through 8, an exciting and innovative method for stopping infestations—a portable heating tent—will be in use and on public display in the Museum.
On Thursday, August 8, from 2-4 PM, join the staff for Bug Off!, a session on pest prevention and artifact preservation for visitors of all ages.
