Research Remarks
Description | Doubs, France - Late Bronze Age, winged celt with straight flaring lateral sides and flat blade edge. Wings rise 113.9 mm and are 8.2 mm apart at that height. The wings were not completely moulded because the metal did not flow evenly in casting. Hammer marks are present on the wings. Haft slot is constricted at neck. One ear one lateral side at butt end is 19.3 mm long, 6.3 mm wide and 10.0 mm high. corrosion includes surface patination. Tag on celt - C.D. no. 7 Dept. Doubs. |
