2017.11—Clothing Iron, Daigh donation
This iron is a gift of George and Nancy Daigh. It was obtained in 1970 by Dr. Robert and Virginia Schwart while working at Uttar Pradesh Agricultural University. It is used by istri-wallahs, who travel from house to house to do the ironing. The user heats the iron by filling it with hot charcoal and can work independently of an electricity source.
