Looking for a road trip? Travel to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art (external link) in Washington DC and see some of the Spurlock’s collection on display in the World on the Horizon: Swahili Arts Across the Indian Ocean (external link) exhibition, originally organized by our colleagues at Krannert Art Museum (external link). As a Smithsonian affiliate, the Spurlock is proud to have contributed an amulet necklace (2009.05.0006), anklet (2012.10.0063), bracelet (2012.10.0173), and ring (2013.05.0906) from Yemen to this traveling exhibition.
