We are located at 600 S. Gregory St. in Urbana, Illinois, on the corner of Gregory and Oregon streets, just east of the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.

Parking

Metered spaces managed by the University and the City of Urbana are available on the streets surrounding the Museum and in designated areas within the parking lot adjacent to the Museum on Oregon Street. There are a small number of metered spaces for handicapped parking permits.

The Parking Department is removing university parking meters and replacing them with Pay By App only signage. There are three apps to use: MobileMeter, ParkMobile, and PayByPhone. If you do not have a smartphone, you can dial (217) 207-3033 (phone link) to pay over the phone. The Parking Department also offers daily meter permits as well. City of Urbana meters should continue to be available.

Parking is free at non-metered spaces in University parking lots on weekdays after 5:00 pm and weekends.

Individuals or groups visiting on the weekend can park for free in UI lot D22 (behind the museum) in non-reserved spaces.

Bus Parking

The Museum cannot help arrange parking or assist with any tickets incurred. Meters must be paid even if the parked vehicle is attended by a driver. Bus parking may be pre-arranged to guarantee a space, but it must be paid for in advance at a higher cost. Contact the University's Parking Department for bus parking at the State Farm Center. Contact the City of Urbana to have meters bagged in front of the Museum.

Public Transportation

We are served by multiple CU-MTD bus routes, and there are several bus stops near the Museum. Depending on where and when you start your trip, consider the 2/20 Red, 5/50 Green, 8 Bronze, 10 Gold, 12/120 Teal, 21 Raven, or 22/220 Illini. Check Google Transit for personalized directions. You can also check CU-MTD's routes and times.

Driving Directions

From the West:

(Bloomington, Peoria, Springfield, Decatur)

On I-72 E: Take I-72 into town as UNIVERSITY AVE. Turn right (S) on LINCOLN AVE, turn right (W) at OREGON ST, then right (N) at GREGORY ST.
On I-74 E: Take I-74E until Exit 183. Turn right (S) onto LINCOLN AVE, turn right (W) at OREGON ST, then right (N) at GREGORY ST.
On US-150 E: Follow US-150. Turn right (S) at MATTIS AV, turn left (E) at SPRINGFIELD AVE, turn right (S) at LINCOLN AVE, turn right (W) at OREGON ST, then right (N) at GREGORY ST.
On IL-10 E: Follow IL-10 as it becomes SPRINGFIELD AVE, turn right (S) at LINCOLN AVE, turn right (W) at OREGON ST, then right (N) at GREGORY ST.

From the North:

(Chicago)

On I-57 S: Turn onto I-74 E and follow the directions above for I-74E.
On US-45 S: Turn right (W) at UNIVERSITY AVE, turn left (S) at LINCOLN AVE, turn right (W) at OREGON ST, then right (N) at GREGORY ST.

From the South:

(Effingham, Charleston)

On IL-130 N: Turn left (W) at WINDSOR RD, turn right (N) at LINCOLN AVE, turn left (W) at OREGON AVE, turn right (N) at GREGORY ST.
On US-45 N: Turn right (E) at KIRBY AVE, turn left (N) at LINCOLN AVE, turn left (W) at OREGON AVE, turn right (N) at GREGORY ST.
On I-57 N: Take exit for I-74 E. Take I-74E until Exit 183. Turn right (S) onto LINCOLN AVE, turn right (W) at OREGON ST, then right (N) at GREGORY ST.

From the East :

(Danville, Indianapolis)

On I-74 W: Take I-74W until Exit 183, turn left (S) onto LINCOLN AVE, turn right (W) at OREGON ST, then right (N) at GREGORY ST.
On US-150 W: Follow US-150 until it turns into University Ave, turn left (S) at LINCOLN AVE, turn right (W) at OREGON AVE, turn right (N) at GREGORY.
